Around Gallery has been traveling for a year, looking for new photographers, new images and new places to build temporary galleries… and then to set off to discover new inspirations. Young and emerging photographers, Around Gallery wants to enhance the role of the photographer as “creator”, artistically but also as a “professionally”: exhibitions, art books, workshops, education, photo …<\/p>\n
Milo Sciaky talks about the new educational project of Around Gallery … in fact, brand new: it started today!<\/p>\n Let’s start from the presentations:<\/em><\/p>\n Name<\/strong> Milo Sciaky<\/p>\n Profession <\/strong>Photographer, but I found that to survive you have to be a lot of other things together<\/p>\n Gallery<\/strong> Around Gallery<\/p>\n Age<\/strong> 29<\/p>\n Since when in the art world?<\/strong> Maybe a year or so. In reality I’m not actually inside, I think. I move alongside.<\/p>\n Why in the art world?<\/strong> By the need to re-establish the role of photography within the present society in response to growing misunderstanding about what it is exactly. As a means of expression, of course, but also as a value document which photography can hardly escape.<\/p>\n About the art world in general..<\/em><\/p>\n The gallery, the exhibition or museum that has surprised the most?<\/strong><\/p>\n I was in Texas for work and on a free day I decided to visit the Museum of Art in Houston that at the time exposed photographic collages of political propaganda. A nice surprise.<\/p>\n The “lighthouse” city for contemporary art?<\/strong><\/p>\n Beijing, the district 798 is a crazy place.<\/p>\n A character in the world of art you consider and appreciate and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n “Estimate” I do not know, I guess I should know them personally, but I appreciate the irony that with Banksy becomes marketing<\/p>\n The artist or artists of the past that you like and why?<\/strong><\/p>\n Marc Chagall. In eighth grade I (my mother) did a dissertation on exile and history of art and I chose this artist. I am fascinated by the complete figure of the artist, especially from his history, perhaps before the work it produces. The colors and references from the Old Testament were included as a collage around the main subject.<\/p>\n Let’s get to our focus: young artists.<\/em><\/p>\n The most promising young artist that you’ve encountered in your career?<\/strong><\/p>\n I try to meet many young people in order to evaluate the opportunity to work together, and I focus on photographers who have not yet had any contact (or have had it in a limited way) with the world of art. I think it is a more challenging path so that both can learn. I couldn’t name any.<\/p>\n What is your favorite artist or work of art?<\/strong><\/p>\n I work in documentary photography then I am hit by a strong point of view dealt with a personal approach and that is aesthetically effective.<\/p>\n What would young emerging artists need? More academies? More galleries? More sales?<\/strong><\/p>\n More culture as the possibility for a young person to be pushed towards a profession that makes him passionate about it, whatever it is. At school, it’s hard to say “you may be an engineer, a doctor, an entrepreneur… a photographer, a sculptor, a dancer.” There are opportunities that present themselves later. I wish young photographers could decide to major in photography in our country without being forced to go to London.<\/p>\n A dispassionate advice to a young artist who is taking the first steps in this world?<\/strong><\/p>\n Not to conceive his figure only as an artist but as a pr, an entrepreneur, a worker. The world is changing very quickly and it is not all about what you love live so I think it’s worth perhaps as many possibilities.<\/p>\n And in general…<\/em><\/p>\n Your project, what are you working on?<\/strong><\/p>\n Around Gallery has existed for almost a year now and just a month it took the advantage of the possibility of founding a SRLs with fewer risks rather than the economic efforts required so far (unthinkable for many young people). That way I can work on several fronts as well as on the organization of the exhibition. Milo Sciaky ci parla del nuovo progetto didattico di Around Gallery…anzi, nuovissimo: \u00e8 iniziato oggi!<\/strong><\/p>\n Cominciamo dalle presentazioni:<\/span><\/p>\n Nome<\/strong> Milo Sciaky<\/p>\n Professione <\/strong> Fotografo, ma ho scoperto che per sopravvivere bisogna essere molte altre cose insieme<\/p>\n Galleria di cui sei parte<\/strong> Around Gallery<\/p>\n Anni <\/strong> 29<\/p>\n Da quanto nel mondo dell’arte? <\/strong>Forse un annetto. In realt\u00e0 non ci sono proprio dentro, non penso. Mi muovo a prescindere<\/p>\n Come mai nel mondo dell’arte? <\/strong> Dal bisogno di ristabilire il ruolo della fotografia all’interno della societ\u00e0 attuale in risposta a un’incomprensione crescente riguardo cosa essa sia esattamente. Come mezzo espressivo, certo, ma anche come valore documentale cui la fotografia difficilmente pu\u00f2 sfuggire.<\/p>\n Parliamo del mondo dell’arte in generale secondo te…<\/em><\/p>\n La galleria, la mostra o il museo che ti ha stupito\/a pi\u00f9 di tutti?<\/strong><\/p>\n Mi trovavo in Texas per lavoro e nella giornata libera ho deciso di visitare il Museum of Art di Houston che in quel momento esponeva dei collage fotografici di propaganda politica. Una bella sorpesa<\/p>\n La citt\u00e0 “faro” per l\u2019arte contemporanea? <\/strong><\/p>\n Pechino, il quartiere 798 \u00e8 un luogo pazzesco.<\/p>\n Un personaggio\/un riferimento nel mondo dell\u2019arte che stimi e apprezzi, perch\u00e8?<\/strong><\/p>\n Stimare non so, dovrei conoscerli personalmente immagino, ma apprezzo molto l’ironia che con Bansky diventa marketing<\/p>\n L\u2019artista o gli artisti del passato che prediligi e perch\u00e8? <\/strong><\/p>\n Marc Chagall. In terza media ho fatto (fare a mia madre) una tesina sull’esilio e per storia dell’arte ho scelto questo pittore. Sono affascinato dalla figura completa dell’artista, dalla sua storia soprattutto, forse prima dell’opera che produce. I colori e i richiami dall’Antico Testamento inseriti come fossero dei collage intorno al soggetto principale<\/p>\n Andiamo al nostro focus, i giovani artisti<\/em><\/p>\n Il giovane artista pi\u00f9 promettente che hai incontrato nella sua carriera?<\/strong><\/p>\n Cerco di incontrare molti giovani in modo da valutare l’opportunit\u00e0 di una collaborazione, e mi concentro su fotografi che non abbiano ancora avuto contatti (o ne abbiano avuti in maniera limitata) con il mondo dell’arte. Ritengo che sia pi\u00f9 stimolante un percorso cos\u00ec impostato in cui entrambi si possa imparare. Non saprei fare nomi.<\/p>\n Cosa cerchi in un artista, o in un’opera d’arte?<\/strong><\/p>\n Mi occupo di fotografia documentaria quindi vengo colpito da un punto di vista forte affrontato con un approcio personale e si, esteticamente efficace.<\/p>\n Di cosa avrebbero bisogno i giovani artisti emergenti? Pi\u00f9 accademie? Pi\u00f9 gallerie? Pi\u00f9 vendite?<\/strong><\/p>\n Pi\u00f9 cultura intesa come la possibilt\u00e0 per un giovane di essere spinto verso una professione che lo appassioni, qualunque essa sia. A scuola \u00e8 difficile che ti vengano a dire “potresti diventare ingegnere, medico, imprenditoreo… fotografo, scultore, ballerino”. Sono delle opportunit\u00e0 che si presentano dopo. Vorrei che i giovani fotografi potessero decidere di laurearsi in fotografia nel nostro paese senza dover andare a Londra.<\/p>\n Un consiglio spassionato ad un giovane artista che sta muovendo i primi passi in questo mondo?<\/strong><\/p>\n Non concepire la propria figura solo come un artista, ma come un pr, un imprenditore, un operaio. Il mondo cambia molto velocemente e non \u00e8 da tutti vivere di quello che si ama perci\u00f2 penso valga la pena darsi il maggior numero di possibilit\u00e0.<\/p>\n E in generale:<\/em><\/p>\n Il tuo progetto attuale, di cosa ti stai occupando?<\/strong><\/p>\n Around Gallery esiste ormai da quasi un anno ed \u00e8 diventata societ\u00e0 solo un mese fa sfruttando la possibilit\u00e0 di fondare una S.r.l.s con pochi spicci invece che con gli sforzi economici (impensabili per molti giovani) richiesti fin’ora. In questo modo posso operare su vari fronti oltre che sull’organizzazione delle mostre. Sta partendo Around Gallery Academy<\/strong> con cui verranno proposti Workshop tenuti da professionisti di alto livello; sono in fase di progettazione i primi due libri fotografici che fanno parte dell’operazioneAround Gallery Books <\/strong>tramite cui operer\u00f2 come casa editrice di volumi d’arte e infine mi occuper\u00f2 della produzione di contenuti foto-video d’autore che sarebbe un modo per permettere ai collaboratori di Around Gallery di affrontare il mercato del lavoro oltre a quello dell’arte.<\/p>\n Una cosa che non ti abbiamo chiesto e che avresti voluto dire?<\/strong><\/p>\n …No, ma vogliateci bene!<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/mostra-mi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Around-Gallery-galleria-darte-Milo-Sciaky-300x200.png\" "\\"Around")
